The Golden Dawn Second Order Grade is a level of initiation in the Golden Dawn system. It is also called the Portal Grade. The ritual performed in this grade is an initiation in the first and second orders completing the elemental rituals.
Portal Ritual[]
A ritual for the aspirant to come out of the dark and into the light, the ritual is a boundary between the lowest sephiroth into the rest of the Tree of Life. This grade is called the Veil of Paroketh.
The aspirant proves his or her knowledge of the Philosophus grade and makes an oath. The aspirant invoks the four elements by using rose petals for air, incense for fire, cup for water and salt for earth. The secrets of this grade are then given to the aspirant.
