Disciplines are broad-stroked definitions of particular mystical practices. Although often confused for religions, Disciplines are actually academically rooted. While there may be religious components in Disciplines, the focus of these traditions is to understand the universe through a range of experiences, whereas the focus of religion is generally to worship a higher power.
