Anna Kingsford is credited for reviving Christian mysticism and esoterism. Best known for the establishment of Christian Pantheism with fellow mystic Edward Maitland, the studied the Bible in esoteric contexts focusing on Kabbalah and classical mythology.
She co-founded the Hermetic Society in 1885 after the Theosophical Society went with Eastern Mysticism as its core philosophy.
